Each in different phases of implementation, our main initiatives are as follows:
Covering Kids and Families Eastern Oregon: Outreach and Enrollment Program, including health outreach, enrollment, and prescription application assistance.
- Design of non-profit, community owned and designed health coverage to be available to small businesses.
- Regional research on networked Federally-Qualified Health Centers, community health needs assessment, and Health Provider Shortage Area application.
- Integrated Mobile Access Teams. These teams would partner with existing mobile health infrastructure in the community to provide primary care, public health, behavioral health services and community health education to remote communities in the tri-county region.
- Dental Services for Uninsured/under insured Patients. This project team would work with dental providers in the community around more efficient provision of pro bono services, as well as seeking funding for provision of dental services to the uninsured, including education, prevention and screening.
- Linking individuals with resources. This includes locating funding for transportation so that residents of all three counties can benefit from resources in other counties, such as ODS (Oregon Dental School).
- Advocacy for effective rural health policy by participation in multiple regional, national, and state groups such as Oregon Health Fund Board, included as a Model Practice Health Collaborative.
- Resource acquisition on behalf of and in partnership with health care providers in the tri-county area.
- Technical and consulting assistance to our members in the areas of: Sustainability Planning, Strategic Planning, Organizational and Program Development, Community Health Needs Assessment, Program Evaluation, Community Partnership Development, Community Benefit Planning.
